About

Hello ladies and gentleman. My name is Michal Kolodejcik an I am a photographer, living in beautiful country of Slovakia. I come from Spisska Nova Ves, small town in the heart of Europe. The town is an entry gate to amazing national park - Slovak paradise. The park is worth seeing due to its magnificent canyons, forests and wild-living animals. This is the place I took the most of my photos. I love nature and try to spend all my free time with hiking, riding a mountain bicycle, skiing or doing extreme sports like crossfit or spartan race.

In 2010 I bought my first digital ultrazoom camera Nikon P100. It was an amazing camera for me at that time. I learned how to use it, what apperture and focal length means, how to use correct sutter speed, what is an ISO and what effect does it do to a final fotography. As I used it long enough I realized the camera has limited functions. It was the moment           I started looking for reasonably priced DSLR.

Nikon D3100 was the choice for me. Lenses 18-105mm f3,5-5,6, 50mm f1,8 and 500mm f8 provided me variety of focus length and depth of field I was looking for. I took thousands of photos to got used to proper exposition set by semi-automatic or even manual modes. Framing, composition or view angles are crucial to create a message to a viewer. Limited again by a sensor and apperture of lenses. I decided to move forward and purchase Nikon D7000 with Sigma 17-50mm f2,8. With this step I moved to another level of fotography.

My photo equipment currently consits of Nikon D600, Sigma 35mm f1,4 Art, Sigma 70-200mm f2,8, Nikon 85mm f1,8, Samyang 8mm f3,5 and a lot of other equipment such as flashes, pripods, umbrellas, filters, remote controllers...

Take a photo is only a beginning of a story. Most of  final photos need a decent or even massive postprocessing. With variety of software available I edit photos in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Adobe photoshop and Photomatix.

I hope you like what I do (:

Michal
